This course is a first step in the world of quantitative methodology and social statistics.
You will understand what quantitative data is, how to design, clean, and analyse a dataset, and how to work with several popular tables and charts in social sciences.
The 'informatics' part of the course is about learning to use the menus and syntax of IBM SPSS. The 'data analysis' part is about learning to produce and read tables and charts necessary to answer research questions.
This is a hands-on course, during the seminars practicing on a computer, on your own, theoretical aspects discussed during lectures.
